High visibility vests are being given out today to pedestrians for free in Kilkenny as part of the national Road Safety Campaign.
The Ireland Community Support Philanthropy committee bought around 2,000 high visibility orange vests, many of which will be given out by gardaí in the streets of Kilkenny today.
Similar ventures are also been undertaken in Naas and Drogheda.
Gardaí will hand them out of their squad cars to anyone walking the roads at night wearing dark clothing
